View user profile

Each user also has a public profile. If you are in the backend you can find under Users > All Users at each user a link “View” which leads to the public view of this user.

What you can see on the public view depends on the theme you are using. But it is also accessible without login.

Hmm that’s not what i see. the “view” link takes me to an author view, showing only what posts they’ve authored. there is no information from their profile. i can’t see anything in the theme – or the WP settings – that would affect that. And I’m googling nothing. Sometimes i feel a bit thick…

Post a screenshot of what you see. Probably it comes from a plugin you use, which could then be recognized.

Thanks for your help. Sometimes i feel profoundly stupid, like this should be obvious.

Like, “here is how to view another user’s profile”. Or “Here is the link you send to others to see your profile”. Or “Here is a plugin to modify the us profile view page”. Nada.

Here https://tealunicorn.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/ps2.png is a test user. it has a profile picture and a bio but neither are visible. The page is headed “All posts by…”

I’m using ArileWP theme which has no Author or Profile page template. I’ve put a support ticket in.
