• Hi, how is possible that in some cases the number of views (of specific single posts, not all) is bigger in the daily table? I am not talking about small differences: some pages in top_10_daily are something like 4 times the number in top_10 ??

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Is this happening continuously with all your posts? Can you turn on debug mode on your site under options so I can look at the outputs on your site.

I have a feeling there might have been (or still is) an issue with the tables that Top 10 stores data which is causing either duplicate hits for daily tables or missing hits for the single ones.

It seems to happen especially with the most visited posts but I cannot be sure. I can try to turn on debug but are you searching for errors? The last time I’ve done this it was not happening.

What have I to search for?

With debug mode on, the tracker (when viewed in the Developer Tools will give an output. It needs to not have an “e” in there which would mean one of the updates didn’t go through. One issue that I was thinking also that the daily got double counted.

It is very rare to happen but I had seen past issues – particularly if the Primary Key in the daily table is not proper. You can try to regenerate these from the Tools page and continue monitoring. The Primary Index should be postnumber, dp_date, blog_id for the daily tables and postnumber, blog_id for the wp_top_ten table
