Vimeo in wordpress

I’m trying to embed vimeo videos in my wordpress site.

Using the normal method works fine in all browsers except IE.

I consulted this page and did as it said using the shortcode but it doesn’t work and the shortcode just shows up as text.

How can I get it to work properly?
