• Hello,

We just received an email from Google warning us we had 7 days to appeal that we are violating their acceptable use policy. See partial message below.

We recently detected that your Google Cloud/API project FPMT Google Photos is using a Google product or service in a manner that seems to violate the applicable?Google Photos APIs Acceptable Use Policy, specifically AUP-1.

We have been using your plugin for years to connect to our photo albums, with photos owned by my organization without issue. The only thing I can think is the volume of albums/photos/and end users viewing these albums on our site. We are an international organization with tens of thousands of users. The link I give above is just one example of an album on our site, we have hundreds of albums. Would appreciate if you could share any experience you may have with this issue. Thank you!

I have never seen this come up from any user.

You might be encountering this due to a combination of high volume with the fact that you are trying to replicate Google Photos’ functionality via Photonic.

Basically, the API is intended to replicate functionality outside Google Photos, but Google might be drawing a fine line with respect to how your API key might be getting used. Too many calls spread across all your albums might be triggering this.

Thank you very much for your quick reply. We will try to appeal this with Google.
