Vipps: Porterbuddy – Display when shipping is 0

    Hi,

    We have an little issue regarding Porterbuddy. First of, Porterbuddy works really good but there is one thing that we need to adress.

    When shipping cost is 0 (Free) we have to display Porterbuddy in the checkout with shipping cost of 0.

    As for now Porterbuddy dissapears from checkout when shipping is 0. Is this something that we can alter to make Porterbuddy visible and choosable with shipping cost of 0?

    Oh, I’m afraid you’ve stumbled upon a specific issue with the Porterbuddy pricing which is a work in progress at Vipps: Originally, if the price for Porterbuddy was set to zero, this was interpreted instead as a signal to calculate the price inside the Porterbuddy widget. This functionality still exists, but as I remember, it has been put on hold.

    I’ve suggested doing this with an extra parameter (as well as an input value for volume-weight) but I’m not sure what the status or plans for this is right now. I’ll notify Vipps about your issue.

    Hi, oh ok. You mention an extra parameter, is that something we can try with a filter/hook/action or is this in the plugin itself when fetching data?

    If the checkout solution is developed in that direction, you will be able to modify this with filters; but there will also be a checkbox for it on the shipping method itself.

    Currently however, this is only implemented for Porterbuddy and of course it is also disabled for the time being.

    I’ve forwarded the issue to the Vipps team and they are looking at it.
