I’m migrating to Woocommerce to sell PDF files.
Many tutorials say to set this type of file as virtual AND downloadable, but when “virtual” ticked, the products have no permission to the files located in woocommerce uploads (I got 403 error). I checked also the order page and there is no permission to the file (at the bottom) though it’s set 5 times on the product page.

Does anyone know what causes this?

Now that I’ve tried several setting (enabled/disabled “to grant access to downloads when orders are “processing”, rather than “completed” option”), even after the ordres marked as completed or processing, there’are no permission given though the links appear on Account page and the emails sent to customers.

    What happens?

I’ve noticed it depends on products whether the permission is given or not!
I have “force download” and “grant access to downloads when orders are processing” set, trying for now with bank transfer.
With some products, I have no problem to download the files, but the access is refused for some products.

    Any idea?

I’ve identified THE problem: file names!
Dunno if it’s because my WP is in Japanese ( my files are named in Roman alphabet though), but when they contained spaces (transformed into %20), the access was denied. I renamed my files and it works fine now ??

Hoping this note could be helpful for someone one day…
