• Hi guys,
I am currently using free version of Virtue and qTranslate-X plugin. Aloust all looks great, but i cannot translate slider and icon menu on a homepage.
Is there any way to translate this strings with qTranslate plugin?
I saw that Premium version of Virtue have some support for multilinguar, but would it work with qTranslate and i will be able to translate a homepage? I wish to know that before i will buy premium.

    Kind regards,

  • Hey,

qtranslate has quicktags you can add for the icon menu and slider. have you tried using the quicktags?

While we suggest using more robust plugins like WPML you can certainly use qtranslate with the premium themes.

Quicktags get trimmed from Slider Caption Heading (after update, there are no more tags), and get ignored on Slider Caption Description (tags are there after update, but both languages are displayed on front end).

mDuh, can you post a link?

    Hannah

Well, there is not much to see on front end… Just text on both languages. I can send you admin credentials for WP.

Can you send me a copy of the tags your using?

    Kadence Themes

Tags are the same as for Home image menu title and content (and it’s working there). Opening tag <!–:en–> closing tag <!–:–>.

    Have you tried the shortcodes?
    [:en]

    Kadence Themes

Slider is seeing those shortcodes as regular text, they are visible on the page along with text.

ok, you have the latest version of the theme right?

    Try installing this plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/redux-framework/

    Kadence Themes

Yes. Ok, I have installed redux-framework, what should I do now?

    (@hannahritner)

So after installing and activating redux and ensuring you’re up to date on everything there is still no change, correct? Did you also clear your cache?
If you did this and there is still no change you should try deactivating plugins one by one to test if one if conflicting.
    Hannah

If you still are loosing data it could be server related. possible it’s an issue with the php settings.. although I think that is unlikely. I can’t recreate this on any of my servers though.

With redux installed go to tools> redux and click on the info tab. What are your php settings?

    Kadence Themes

All plugins are off except qTranslate plus, Kadence slider, and Redux Framework. [:en] is not recognized (it’s displayed as part of the text), <!–:en–> is not displayed, but language switch is not working, and it’s still trimmed off in Slider Caption Heading.

Hey, If you have the Kadence Slider then you would have to have the premium theme? If you can then use the support forums here: https://www.kadencethemes.com/support-forums/forum/virtue-theme/ I can walk you through several different ways to set up a slider even if your server isn’t working for the theme options.
