Virtue/Pinnacle Toolkit.

    Hi,

    I have searched everywhere I can think of for information on Virtue/Pinnacle Toolkit. All I can find is reviews that say it is terrible. What on earth does it do. All the plug in page says is:

    Custom Portfolio and Shortcode functionality for Virtue and Pinnacle WordPress Theme

    Not intended to work with any other themes.

    This is like describing a Mustang car as a vehicle for driving, not a lot of use.

    Hi Chris, this plugin was designed to work solely for Virtue and Pinnacle free themes. Without it you do not have the portfolio feature and also the shortcode functionality is not available (as the description states).
    Were the reviews you’re referring to coming from people who were using a virtue or pinnacle them?

    Let me try and clear up the purpose for the plugin.

    www.ads-software.com theme review standards don’t allow themes to add custom post type (portfolio), shortcodes or contact forms.

    Since these are things I wanted to have as options in the theme I made a plugin that adds all these functions into a site using the virtue theme. They are all optional, you don’t have to install the plugin but it is recommend to get access to the great features.

    The two unfortunate reviews on the plugin page are out of my control, I have replied to try and explain there and you can read the replies. I hardly thick a javascript conflict and a miss understanding about turning off the plugin gallery are equal to reviews saying it’s “terrible”. I would also encourage you to read the reviews for this theme as everyone who uses it is using the plugin and since the plugin has no interface most people assume that the theme is adding all of the extra features.

    I will try it out and see what it does. Hanna talks about shortcode functionality, whatever that is. I think she is assuming that everyone knows what a portfolio and what a shortcode is and what use it is. To me a portfolio is a folder an artist (like myself) has to show off their work and a shortcode is a code that is short like bit.ly gives you. This theme is great and does everything I want so I wonder what else the plugin could give me. Any things It can’t do, I use a child theme to do it.

    The added shortcodes are a gallery styling change (optional on and off in the theme options). and a list of buttons that help you with your post and page content.
