• I hired a developer to create my site. She said she put a virus on my site.
I just logged in and many things , including my form is missing.

Is there a way to see if there is a virus or whom deleted it? Maybe someone got my username.password

  • If you’re not already running a security plugin, you need to start there right away. WordFence, Sucuri, All in One WP Security and iThemes Security are a few of your options: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/search/security/.

Use the scanning features to check. It’s possible for one plugin to miss something that another will find, so you may want to try more than one — but don’t run them all at once.

You may want to notify your hosting service’s support.

Change your password, and if there is malware to be cleaned up, change your password again afterwards.

Thank you! I’m doing this now. I’ve changed the password many times.

    https://yournameonit.us/shop/
is my link. If you click on products, click on an image
    it’s blank.
It used to be an image and my form to check out.

She used Formcrat Can she control this somehow on her side?
My domain name is https://www.yournameonit.us and I don’t know why she created a sub diretory.
She refused to move it or even build on that one

I’m looking at https://yournameonit.us/shop/ from my computer and I’m able to see and interact with your products.

Are you saying the form and images are missing from https://www.yournameonit.us, or are they missing from https://yournameonit.us/shop/? The former is a basic site with placeholder content and the latter seems to be a fully functional site.

It’s not unusual for someone to have a WordPress installation in the root directory and another in a subdirectory; sometimes this is by accident and sometimes it’s a temporary development environment.

If you want everything at https://yournameonit.us/shop/ to be moved to https://www.yournameonit.us, that should be able to be done. You may need to ask your hosting company for advice.

Thank you. Yes, I asked her to move it to https://www.yournameonit.us however, she refused.
I had my hosting company help me, however, he said he was going to back it up but didn’t so I lost so much of my stuff. ??

I’m having to figure out what she did so I can put it back.

Somehow my form got deleted so I’m not sure if she’s able to do this on her side or does she have to have access to the inside to do so.
