    Hello, I have the plugin installed in my wordpress environment, it changed files like wp-config and more PHP files.

    My question, does the plugin change permissions of the index.php and wp-config files?

    Strange codes also appeared, I don’t know if it’s a virus or the plugin in question

    Yes, AIOS can create the aios-bootstrap.php file and writes to wp-config.php file this aios-bootstrap.php file to be included as it loads firewall rules to be checked as the first line of code and firewall rules applied before the actual WordPress loads.

    AIOS would be changing the permission for wp-config.php certain operations like Do not allow to edit PHP files etc which settings are updated in wp-config.php and to make sure wp-config.php is writable.

    It can change the permission and write to .htaccess file and users.ini file also.

    Please apply the settings of AIOS then go to File system security > File permission. you can set there required only permissions and then permission should not change until any AIOS settings are changed.
