Visibility issue ( publish reverses text/link highlight )

  • Hi all,

    Well, have tried pretty much everything I can think of with this one and all to no avail so am hoping Esmi or someone will have a simple solution for me?

    This problem began after WP update 3.9 and has continued ever since. In random posts it seems that when publishing a piece that it can do one of three things:

    1: post as normal
    2: reverse link highlight so that all text is dark and only the link is visible
    3: half and half of the two previous descriptions

    Here is a list of things I have attempted:

    Theme change
    plug in reset
    plug in removal and re-install one at a time
    browser deletion, change, re-install
    browser compatibility
    copyright plug in removal
    seo
    comment preferences
    discussion settings
    reading settings
    writing settings

    but everything results in the same three outcomes. here are examples of all three in the order stated:

    1: as normal

    ANY help and suggestions are gratefully accepted

    however! ‘please’ take into account that I am not a ‘coder’ or ‘programmer’ . I just use the tools of the website itself.

    ( I dare say through a step by step walkthrough I would get it, but please bear in mind explaining it in full-on ‘tech-speak’ will not be as helpful as you may think. )

    STATUS UPDATE:

    copy/paste seems to be the offender? have no idea why…?

    when CP’ing anything, but in particular it seems to centre around the CP’ing of hyperlinks, then the issue rears its ugly head

    suggestions on a postcard ( bit of calamity crisis humour for all you UK Blue Peter children out there ??

    Can we get right back to a bare install? Deactivate all plugins, switch to the 2014 theme and see what happens then.

    so there is NO fix

    well done, WP, a genius move to make your blogging platform less user-friendly in a time when you are being bombarded by competitors making more and more easy to operate self-publishing websites.

    way to go!!

    whats next? an update on how to clip your toenails with a sawn-off shotgun?

    Do you intend to try and sort this out? Or are you just going to waste everyone’s time with silly comments? If it’s the latter, then I’m sorry but I have better things to do – like working with people who help us to help them.
