    Hey mate,

    very light and easy forums, thanks a lot. we managed to work around guest-posting and seperate admin-forums.
    We like the “recent-posts” widget a lot but we want to keep our forums to registered users only. for the forums themselves you offer this function perfectly simple via checkbox but the widget is still visible to everyone.
    is there a way to connect those visibilities? or havent i found the option to show single widgets to “logged users only” yet??

    And is there a way you could add a small indicator for “posts since last login” like “(3)” – thread-wise or in total (maybe in title)? i know thats asked a lot but would upgrade the widget’s usability a lot.

    Hi moeppel1985,

    I try to modify the widget so that the information is only shown to logged in users when the option is turned on. I hope I can include it in the next update.

    Maybe I can add a “X posts since last login” indicator in a future version but I cant say yet when it will be coming.

    Great to hear. The visibility (to us) is the much more necessary part anyways – the “posts since” is just a cosmetic “nice-to-have”.

    I added a patch for the widget visibility bug to the dev-version on GitHub. It will also be included in the upcoming version 1.0.7.

    the “posts since” is just a cosmetic “nice-to-have”

    I am not sure if it make sense to add this kind of information to the widget because I think this kind of information is not important for users. Maybe it could be interesting for very small forums when there are (for example) three new posts since the last login but users can also see this via the widget and/or the overview-page of the forum.

    You can ask yourself: Is it an important kind of information for an user when you have a very big forum and a user sees that there are “2514 new posts” since the last login? I dont think so because he will not read all those new posts anyway. Maybe it is an indicator for activity but other existing indicators for this (for example icons for unread content) can already be used for this.
