Fist of all, thank you very much for your splendid plugin to show statistics, which we are very much satisfied with.

At the end of February, I found some strange phenomenon of the visit duration statistics.

One range of visit duration under visitors tab shows 338.18%, which is more than 100% and seems to be strange.(My client asked me why it is more than 100%.)

You may find the 0-30 seconds-range with 338.18% on the following lists of visit duration.

The total number of human visits is 97. But the number of hits of 0-30 seconds range is 328. If I divide 328 by 97, then I come up with 338.14%.

Is it possible to have more hits than the total number of human visits?

Or is there some kind of option I need to set to make the percentage to be under 100%. Or has it something to do with the number of number of bot’s visit, which have grown to 733 visits from 99 visits on January.

I guess the percentage need to be around 33.94% considering the rest of the cases(33.94=100-17.53-13.40-3.09-3.09-9.28-15.46).
    —————————————–
    Visit Duration
    —————————————–
    0 – 30 seconds 338.14%
    31 – 60 seconds 17.53%
    1 – 3 minutes 13.40%
    3 – 5 minutes 6.19%
    5 – 7 minutes 3.09%
    7 – 10 minutes 3.09%
    10 – 20 minutes 9.28%
    More than 20 minutes 15.46%

  • Is it possible to have more hits than the total number of human visits?

    Yes.
    1. Various bots including search engines visit your site and as a percentage it can be more that humans when you have a few human visitors.
    2. Can be rogue bots (say, for hacking, etc.)

Any way, a URL to your site may help us.
Also look for opinions from others.

    Dear camu,

Thank you very much for your attention.

The version of SlimStat I am using is 2.8.2

Upon reading your message, I checked the SlimStat changelog.
I found there have been many updates after 2.8.2. thanks to your time and effort.

And I found “Fixed: bug in calculating visit durations” on the version of 2.8.6. So, I think I can solve the problem with plugin upgrade.

I will upgade the SlimStat to newest version.

Thank you very much for your help.
