Visitor can not upload image

    I’m the site admin and the NextGen Public Uploader works very well for me. But a visitor is unable to upload an image. I do not have the WP Login plugin installed – is this a requirement for visitors to upload images? I’m thinking of unchecking the “Anyone can register” box. Would this setting have anything to do with a visitor not being able to upload a photo? I notice on the NextGEN Uploader site, you state “Any visitor that is logged into your website will be allowed to upload an image to the gallery.”

    My visitor is able to upload images ok now.

    I just downloaded the Page Link Manager plugin from my Add New Plugin page. Now, when I go to my Installed Plugin page, I’m redirected to a PayDay Loans site at: https://abe.muhay.eu/s.php. Any advice on how to restore my WordPress installation would be appreciated.

    well i just discoverd i had this problem too!

    I seem to have it fixed!

    Download Bullet Proof Security Plugin
    Upload via ftp into your plugin directory

    open a new chrome window incognito, login to your wordpress admin panel then go activate the plugin

    Thanks for the info. I found the file that contained the hacker’s site url. It’s in a .htaccess file that was in the root folder of another site. My site shares the same account with the other site and is in a subfolder. The hosting company changed the file name. I thought this would disable the hacked file, so after the name change, did an unistall and reinstall of my WordPress site but my site’s dashboard still has the damaged Installed Plugins page. I’m now waiting to get permission to remove the renamed file containing the hacking code.

    I removed the hacker’s link by deleting my browsing history.
