Working with a wp blog. Need to restrict access. Using buddypress. However logins still directed to jetpack and it can’t be deactivated. How can I create and restrict access with jetpack?

  • Are you referring to the blue button that allows users to log into this site using WordPress.com accounts? If so, you can disable this from your dashboard in “Jetpack > Settings > Security”

Yes. My problem I believe is that the login for the admin and the guest is different. When the admin logs in he then logs in on a second step using his wp id. The guess doesn’t have one. If I remove the jetpack the admin has to use his regular site login. In other words jetpack can’t be used when the site wants to restrict to visitors or new members. Am I right?

The wordpress blog works fine. However the desktop goes directly to the wordpress login instead of the site. How can I set the settings to have desktop uses to simply go to the site?

WordPress.com Secure Sign On follow the directives in Settings → General, with respect to whether or not you enable new user registrations. If you don’t then only existing users can use it to log in.

Can you show me what you mean by this? Are you able to provide me with the URL to your site?
