This is a new problem within the past few weeks.
Visitors to a post on my website can add a comment only if they are using Safari. If they are using Firefox or Chrome they get Error Code nr01 and the message “you appear to be a spambot.”
I’m using WordPress 4.9.6, All In One Security, JetPack, Weaver II Pro Theme.
    Can anyone help please?
    Thanks –

  • It looks like you are using JetPack for comment (enhancement?), and that is putting an iframe with a script into the comment form. The browsers you mentioned having problems have strict security for CORS, which means that the domain handling the comment does not have permission on your domain.

Easy solution: don’t use JetPack for comments
Alternative: Read up on CORS and JetPack, and see what you need to do to fix it. I’m sure it’s in the JetPack documentation somewhere, because a lot of people must have encountered this before.

This a bug with JetPack. JetPack does affect other plugins and updates from Wordpres platform. I also have JetPack. I always backup my databast wherever I install or update JetPack or WordPress platform.

    Hi Joy and edwardyves2,

Many thanks for your comments! I took Joy’s “easy solution” and turned off most of the JetPack enhancements for Settings-Discussion-Comments. Presto! My problem went away.

I’m still rather surprised that I have been using the JetPack comment assist for 5 years with no problem. However, no prob, I can do without it and so can my readers.

    Best wishes –
