• Hi, I have the plugin installed and I have noticed that it does not track visits well at all.

For example, yesterday only Google Ads shows me 93 clicks and Facebook Ads 42 clicks, however, Google Analytics only registered 2 organic views and 1 direct view, which does not make sense.

I would like to know how to correct this in short.

    Thanks`

Thanks for reaching out, we’d be happy to help determine any possible issues when it comes to your Site Kit placed snippet. While we’re limited to plugin assistance (including the Analytics snippet placed via Site Kit) I’m sure we can point you in the right direction if necessary, most likely the product experts at the Analytics Help Center should be able to troubleshooting any traffic sources.

Firstly to ensure your traffic and Analytics is recording as expected on your site – which looks to be fully AMP can you share whether you first of all see traffic when using the Google Analytics real time report? Please visit your site while not logged in to ensure your own visits are being tracked (while also accepting your site cookies via the popup)

Secondly I noticed you have a cookies plugin active, which may be impacting report once users arrive on your site from Facebook or Google ads. That may be one consideration when it comes to your Analytics reporting.

Thanks for your prompt response, I have done the test of views from another browser and indeed a visit is triggered in Analytics.

Now, with regard to the cookie plugin, are you suggesting that I deactivate it so that visits are counted correctly?

Thanks for sharing. Next we can ensure the traffic in your Google Analytics dashboard matches that of your Site Kit Analytics dashboard. When you open up your Site Kit dashboard and open the 7 day report do the metrics match that of your Google Analytics interface? A quick way to test this exact report is by clicking on the “See full stats in Analytics” link.

Let me know if the stats are similar.

Now, with regard to the cookie plugin, are you suggesting that I deactivate it so that visits are counted correctly?

I don’t suggest deactivating your cookie plugin. I’m just wondering about the configurations applied and whether this may be contributing to the mismatch, in particular if you’re comparing click statistics from your ads serves such as Google Ads or Facebook ads. It might be worth testing your configuration using the real time report. If users are landing on your site without accepting your cookies, from Facebook ads or other sources how are they being tracked.

The metrics match between Google Analytics and Site Kit.

Now I have the doubt if when migrating the site to AMP I should have made a change un my Google Analytics or in reality that does not affect the tracking of visits at all. (My question arises from another site that I have with Adsense where the AMP ad version is suggested)

Lastly, I checked the cookie plugin settings and apparently it was blocking Google Analytics.

Thanks for the update. Good to know the metrics do match.

In relation to activating AMP there should be on difference when it comes to tracking if you’ve implemented via Site Kit. Site Kit ensures the amp-analytics snippet is placed on your site, with the same corresponding property between both. Data is consolidated between your AMP and non AMP URLs. If you find any unusual traffic the product experts at the Analytics Help Center may be able to assist. From inspecting your site the configuration seems fine.

Lastly, I checked the cookie plugin settings and apparently it was blocking Google Analytics.

Good to know, thanks for providing an update.

Let me know if you have any additional questions on the above and I’d be happy to assist.

@seobeto As we haven’t received a response, I’ll mark this as resolved. Feel free to open a new support topic if you continue to encounter issues, or reopen this topic and we’d be happy to assist. Thank you!
