Visual and Text Editor Not Showing

Installed wordpress on a new domain and the visual editor was not showing. Suggestions were re-install wordpress, disable plugins and change to default theme. Tried it all. Nothing worked.

Found several solutions – change user meta key in database, delete user and add them back, or enable visual editor on user profile.

I think the last one is the easiest – just go to user profile page and at the very top – enable visual editor (still not sure how it got turned off).
