    Using WP version 5.9
    Woocommerce 6.2.0

    Hello,

I’m working on an artist website. The aim is to sell each original artwork 91 of a kind) and to also offer prints of that artwork (in different sizes) from the same original artwork single product page.

I’ve read previous posts on this topic and have not really come to a suitable resolution as yet.

I have uploaded a simple product, an original artwork. I now want to offer prints in 2 size of that same artwork all from the same product page.

I’ve followed various suggestions and they do not work.

    1. Changed simple product to a variable product, added global attributes: original, prints, print sizes, then add all the pricing etc.

However, when I do this, the original painting price does not show, only the print pricing range and the variants for prints In addition, the ‘add to cart button’ greys out when I do this. The add to cart button works on simple products fine.

So I’ve tried multiple ways to add the global attributes for the original artwork plus the prints with variations to display, nothing works.

I’ve also tested fully for plugin conflicts, none. Checked Woocommerce status, all is green ticks, no issues there. All software, theme and plugin is up to date.

I’ve contacted DIVI Theme support and no resolution as yet. I’ve contacted Woocommerce and no reply yet.

So here I am . Does anyone know if what I am trying to do is possible with Woocommerce or not? if so, how? or do I need to created a ‘print’ product with its own variants? I was hoping , not as so much extra work.

    Thanks in advance for feedback:)

    Hi @iam3nt0r

I understand that you want each product to offer the original artwork as well as prints of that artwork in different sizes – all on the single product page.

You should be able to achieve this just by properly structuring a variable product.

You can have each one to have the following variations:
    – original artwork
    – print in size a X b
    – print in size c X d
    – print in size e X f, and likewise

It should suffice for the variations to have just one attribute – may be “type”. (not size, color, etc)

You can check our documentation for help with setting up a variable product: https://woocommerce.com/document/variable-product/

the original painting price does not show

I’d recommend creating a new variable product from scratch as I outlined above. Make sure to add original artwork as the first variation in the product. That will make it the default variation and its price will be the default price of the product (as long as another variation isn’t clicked upon by a user)

    I hope this helps!

    Hello Margaret

    Thanks so much!
I tried that and it works, the drop downs are all there and the ‘add to cart’ button works, however now the ‘quantity’ selection button has disappeared.

Not sure why. I have stock controlled on the variation for the original artwork as there is 1 only. as for the prints they are on demand, so stock level doesn’t need to be there. I did try adding stock to one of the print variables but the quantity button did. not return, so i unchecked stock level for that variable.

Any ideas why the quantity button has gone?

Maybe there is something I need to do? At this stage if someone is ordering they can only order 1 print I guess. I would like them to be able to select more if need to.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi @iam3nt0r

    Thanks for the update.

You’d want to check whether stock is entered correctly. For variable products, you can manage stock either on product level (parent) or variation level. If you enable stock management on the variation level, then the product stock is ignored. Sales will lead to a reduction in the variation stock but not on the parent stock.

Manage Stock: Tick the box to manage stock at the variation level.
Stock Quantity: Shows if Manage Stock is selected. Input the quantity of stock for the specific variation, or may be left blank to use the product’s stock settings.

You can read the Inventory Management section of the documentation to manage the stock quantity: https://woocommerce.com/document/variable-product/#adding-variation-data

If you find that all of this is already properly set, yet there is no way to select a quantity then please share a copy of your site’s System Status in order to check your configuration and assist you further. You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

    Hello Margaret,

I figured out why the quantity button disappeared on the variable products, I had to uncheck the Inventory level Manage Stock box, update and then the quantity box returned on the product page.

It was a simple fix in the end.

Thank you so much for all your help:)
