Visual Code editor won’t show in 2.1

  • I have put up several different blogs using WP 2.1 and in all of them except one I have Visual/Code editing capabilities under Posts and Pages. In the one, I only have the Code, no visual.

    I checked all the files I uploaded and everything is there as far as the TinyMCE. I can’t find anything about this anywhere else. I am fairly new to WP, but have had no real problems but this one.

    If I have to re-upload any files for the editor it should be the js folder in the wp-includes folder, right?

    Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Jay

  • Hi,
    This seems to happen a lot. I had a lady let me generously troubleshoot the problem on her site.
    The 1st thing I tried was a complete new wp-includes folder. Then a complete file deletion and reupload. Disabled all plugins and did that all again. Did a lot of other stuff.
    What finally got it working was deleting all files from the server (including .htaccess). Dropping all tables in the database. Re-install WP. It worked and I don’t have a clue why.

    Thanks for the reply. I will redo the whole deal with a fresh download of WP.
