Visual Composer Conflict

My current WP configuration

PHP / MySQL Version: PHP Version 7.2.31
Theme used: Newave

Problems encountered :

I manage the maintenance of a site that uses the WPBakery Visual Composer 4.12 plugin and the Newave theme. Everything was working pretty well and I had access to the WPBakery Visual Composer plugin to build my pages or posts. Since the update to WordPress (5.5), the plugin has simply disappeared on the front when I edit my pages or my posts. The corresponding code is displayed instead in text mode but the pages are displayed correctly (so I’m assuming the plugin is still active).

I temporarily switched to another theme and it worked again. I reactivated my theme (Newave, very bad …) and the problem arose again. Newave is a bad theme but I’m not sure it’s his only problem.

I find it hard to see where it comes from. I have a working site backup that works fine locally (Mamp, PHP 7.4.2) under WordPress 5.4.2. I’m wondering if there are some Visual Composer .js files that are stuck.
