Visual Composer: Theme Integration
-
I’m pulling my hair in frustration. I cannot seem to get an idea of how to get WPBakery’s Visual Composer to work with the Storm Theme — which was heavily augmented down to the source by the previous developer.
I’ve searched through the documentation of Visual Composer and I wasn’t able to find anything at all that could help me with my query. Now here’s the deal.
I recently updated Visual Composer and did all the steps to a successful start. However, the site is hosted in a distributed system managed by Git as the version control which (in the company’s policies) they are very stringent with. I cannot by any way use FTP.
However, despite whatever warnings WordPress threw to me, I was able to see Visual Composer, edit its settings and configs and work with it when editing posts and pages. However whenever I view the pages / posts that were edited with Visual Composer, nothing works, it was as if I just built them using the normal Editor window.
Questions:
1. What does the FTP thing do anyway? If I could do what it does manually and deploy it via git, that would be grand.
2. It seems that everything works fine in the back end, however I don’t see Visual Composer activated on the theme’s posts and pages, but it did work in the older version of the plugin which I found already installed with the theme. How do I remedy this situation? Please reserve any comments pointing me to use anything else BUT WP-Bakery’s visual composer because I cannot do anything about it and my superior is pushing for this specific plugin.
