Visual Editor Button Vanished after 3.8 Upgrade

Is the ‘Visual Editor’ disabled? Either way, toggle this to check.

The visual editor is not disabled in the profile option .

Same problem only that the tab is showing but not the buttons. I can’t even write in visual editor mode, can’t click the text field. All fine in html mode though.

@kylex – try clearing any caching on your site and browser. Try another browser. Try deactivating ALL plugins and switching to a default theme to see if that resolved the problem. If so, reverse your steps one by one to find what caused it.

I am experience this same thing. i have deactivated all plugins and switched to the default Twenty Thirteen them with the editor still not working. i am also seeing the “visual” and “text” tab but there are no visual editor buttons, clicking on the “text” tab does nothing and I can not activate the cursor in the text field of the editor (I can’t write).

I did clear the cache while everything was deactivated and WP was in default mode. I have checked a separate WP install and this is not the case.

I hope this additional information is somehow helpful.

Well after I didn’t do a damn thing ,
it fixed alone , maybe the firefox cache was a mess and now it’s all over.

My problem is not in the browser it is in the UPDATE, everything was fine before then.

The visual editor is just not there at all. Editing in the text mode works fine, but my endusers cannot do that, they NEED the visual editor.

DO I have to revert to the old backup to regain this functionality?

Just solved this thanks to a tip from inmotion hosting support (after trying the other suggestions id read of disabling all plugins, reinstalling wordpress manually and changing to a different theme)

Go to users >> profile, disable the visual editor, click save, then re-enable and click save again. Worked for all of my 5 sites. \o/
