    Hello,

A week ago my Visual Editor suddenly disappeared. I did a lot of searching and realised that this is happening to other people as well so I tried every possible solution I found out there.

Please help me out, I have a really important project coming up next Monday ??

    What I tried without success:

    1. Restored my website to a past back-up (this fixed the problem for a while but it re-appeared after 12 hours)
    2. Deactived all plug-ins
    3. Emptied site caches and browser caches
    3. Updating WordPress theme and installing the previous version again.
    4. Adding define('CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS', false); to the suggested php folder
    5. Adding define('SCRIPT_DEBUG', false); to the suggested php folder
    6. Checking if “Disable Visual Editor” is checked in wp dashboard
    7. Trying 4 different browsers
    8. Replacing TinyMCE
    9. Installing Google Libraries plug-in
    10. Changing themes and re-installing my theme

  • Do you notice any JavaScript errors on your debugging console? https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Using_Your_Browser_to_Diagnose_JavaScript_Errors

Yes, but still nothing of the suggested solutions helps :/. Do you have any suggestions Rajesh? I would really appreciate any help at all…

A temporary solution I’ve found is using a Visual editor plug-in called Folio.

Please reply specific to my suggestion, did you find any JS errors?

Yes I got these following errors:

    1. uncaught syntaxerror unexpected token
2.uncaught securityerror blocked a frame with origin
3.uncaught referenceerror tinymce is not defined`

Fixing those errors could probably fix the issue.

I hired a web developer who did try to fix them but they just keep on re-appearing on their own :/

FINALLY FOUND WHAT WAS THE PROBLEM!

Ok so, this is late for me since I re-installed my whole website, but in case someone else has this problem and doesn’t want to lose 2 weeks of his life here is how to solve it!

The problem was caused by Cloudflare (CloudFlare is a content delivery network ). Once this software was reinstalled by my websites host (it comes free with a hosting package I have) the visual editor went missing.

    HOW TO FIX THIS:
Ask someone from your hosting service or cloudflare to disable the JS auto-minify for CloudFlare for your domain. Wait a minute or two and voila — problem gone! (at least for me)

Hope this helps someone from waisting countless of hours (as in my case)

    Peace out ??
