Visual editor not displaying titles etc.

  • From a few weeks and probably the latest upgrade, I face a situation where I am not able anymore to use the title/paragraph formatting within the visual editor when writing a long post.

    Previously I was able to select any title format (H2,H3, etc.) whatever the cursor/text position was in the writing window. Now I need to go up to the start of the page to gain access to this.

    Same issue on different browsers and computers.

    Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

    If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Fourteen theme to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    Unfortunately the site is online with more than 15000 visitors per day so I cannot play with the plugins switching on and off.
    Same for theme switching (even worse :)).
    Any other idea to help identifying the issue ?

    It’s necessary troubleshooting, and that’s how we identify what’s at fault.

    It doesn’t necessarily need to be done right now, you can wait for a low traffic time. It should only take maybe 5 minutes to test.
