Greetings. I noticed that my line spacing is not working when I am in the visual editor. When I look at the html, it’s entering <div></div> instead of line breaks.

This started happening after the latest update.

I have published the article that I’m working on so you’ll be able to see it.

    Thanks….

  • Hi @jesaminem,

I just tested this on a fresh installation of WordPress 4.9.1 (latest version as of this writing).

Hitting SHIFT + ENTER correctly creates a line break with a <br> tag.

And hitting just ENTER correctly creates a new paragraph inside a <p> .. </p> tag.

If you’re pasting content copied from elsewhere, chances are there’s some embedded styling that’s creating these divs. Or it could be a plugin or theme massaging the content.

Can you please publish a NEW post by typing directly into the editor (ie no pasting) and let’s see if it makes a difference.

Hi George, well I just published a NEW post and it worked fine. Odd because the post I showed you was working fine yesterday. Oh well, I guess I have to start over because there is a glitch in there somewhere. Thanks for your response.
