Visual Editor not working anymore

Hi @simschr – That is not something we have experienced.

I did, however, personally experience that in WordPress Posts or Pages but on another website where our Newsletter plugin was never installed nor is it today. It was related to PHP version, if I recall correctly, or incompatibility with other plugins/themes.

Before proceeding, we ask every customer to read and follow our troubleshooting list found here: https://tribulant.com/support/
The most important points are disabling plugins and themes, and using the correct PHP version.
Once that’s done, please reply back with your findings and we’ll go from there.

Thank you very much for your feedback. I’ve tried the following things today:
– deactivating all plugins except for the newsletter plugin
– changed to the default theme
– checked the php version (7.4.3)
Unfortunately the visual editor is still not working.

This was resolved in our support system. Here is what happened, in case any future customer has a similar issue:

This is caused by the German language translation for our Newsletter plugin. There was an additional line break for 4 translated words in German, for some reason. Removing those fixed the issue.

Here is how you can fix it on your website:
1. Install Loco Translate plugin (or any supported translation plugin) and activate it.
2. Open Loco Translate > Plugins > wp-mailinglist
3. select German.
4. Find these 4 words one by one and remove the extra line at the end of the German translation:
