Visual tab while posting has no Right Click a paste anymore

  • Thanks for taking the time to read this and if needs to be moved to a diff section my apologies.

    I upgraded a few sites to 3.3 and i noticed this issue.

    When creating a new post using the visual tab, not the html tab, the ability to right click and paste is now gone. This option is only on the html tab, but then it wont paste correctly.

    So, question is, Is this a bug or a was this planned? This makes posting a real pain when I am copying info from another page and want to paste it.

    Now I have to type some text, then highlight it and then right click on that text so paste is available via right click.

    Can anyone advise a way to fix this?

    I did try to search over and over for this, but found nothing.

    FOR SEARCH USE– Right click paste is missing while trying to post using visual tab.

  • Disable all plugins (even rename the plugins folder) to see if this problems goes away. If that is the case, enable the plugins one by one until the problem re-appears. Disable the plugin in question and contact the plugins author to let them know there is a problem with WP 3.3.

    So, you think a plugin is making it go away?
    Do you currently have ability to right click paste?

    When things break in the admin after an upgrade there are a few things to check out.

    1. Did the upgrade finish successfully? Check your files to see if there might be any missing
    2. Disable all plugins to see if they are causing problems. If all else fails, rename the plugins directory to make sure.
    3. Try a different theme.

    There are probably more steps that you can take, but 90% of the time you’ll manage to sort this out by looking at those 3 things (I’d start with the plugins).

    thing is site works perfectly
    seems a wp issue, not plugin related

    do you have a 3.3 version up that allows right click paste in visual tab?

    Again, nevermind that the site is working.

    Plugins can also modify the behavior of the backend.

    Check your plugins to start with. I’d start with plugins that for example add something to the editor (e.g. video embedding).

    Still same thing even with update to 3.3.1

    Right clicking in the text box does bring up paste in 3.3.1.

    create a new post
    select the visual editor
    copy content from another page and attempt to paste using right click

    The menu has no option though cntrl-V works

    It works for me.

    well, i guess its just me and my 5 diff sites im using it on.

    It does not work in FF 8.0.1 but does work in IE 9 and Chrome. Maybe a browser issue.

    weird that this would stop working, preventing me from upgrading all my blogs

    It works in FF 9.0.1 for me – although there may be a slight delay before the full context-menu is available.

    i get the right click menu instantly, just the copy, paste is gone

    In FF 9.0.1 visual mode the

    Undo
    Cut
    Copy
    Paste
    Delete

    menu shows for me in the html mode while the

    Back
    Forward
    Reload

    menu shows in visual.

    Just curious, why would this stop you from updating your blogs?
