“Visual, Text” tabs disapeared in Classic editor

When I check the “Add a new page” or edit an existing one, the “Visual, Text” buttons are missing. Only appeears the cross “disable distraction”.

Hi @expertimmodelarc I am not quite sure what you mean exactly, are you able to provide more information about the visual text button?

In the “Classic editor” I was used to see 2 options “Visual, and Text” on top right of the editing area, just above the above the cros “edit without distraction” button.

Since a recent while, those 2 options are no more visible, and edition is only in text mode (ie html code) . I have no mean to switch to visual mode.

Any clue to repair this ?

I did deactivate all plugins but “Classic editor” which i did deinstall and reinstall.

Same issue.

Hi @expertimmodelarc thank you for providing more information, I cannot replicate the issue you are having so there could be a conflict on your site. Can you please check the classic editor with a different theme preferably the Twenty* once, additionally, is everything else up to date on your site?

I just did it with twentytwentytwo and same issue.

Hi @expertimmodelarc thank you for the screenshot, from your Dashboard can you please go to Users > Edit(user with the issue)

While on this user profile make sure the option to Disable the visual editor when writing isn’t enabled. If there is a checkmark remove it and then save the changes.

I just discover issue is related to the User language option set to French.
When set to English it works correctly.
When set to default site language it works also.
Issue only exist when user language forced to French.

Hi @expertimmodelarc I am glad you managed to locate the issue, however, I cannot replicate the issue after changing my language to French. When

I can see the “Visual” and “Text” tabs, but clicking on “Text” does nothing. I disabled the visual editor to be able to edit the text of a page temporarily, but after I set it back, I still cannot use the “Text” tab. I also made sure the user language was set specifically to English.
