    Hi. There seems to be an issue that prevents me from switching between text and visual mode in the classic editor.

    WP 5.3
    Yoast SEO 12.6.2 (but also happens in 12.6.1)

  • I have the same problem and reported it 4 days ago but still no update/fix has been implemented by Yoast.

    Another site of mine has the previous version of Yoast active and works fine. So it is the 12.6.2 version that is causing the problems.

    Reverted back to 12.5.1 fixed the issue for us on dozens of sites. I noted my findings here the other day: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/yoast-not-available-on-posts/

    12.7 doesn′t address this issue either :-/

    @mcmito

    That sounds like a plugin or theme conflict. Can you try and gather as much information for us as possible? Please perform the following:

    1. Make sure you are using the most recent WordPress Core, v5.3. If you are not sure what version you have or how to update, your host provider can help.

    2. Make sure the issue doesn’t persist when Yoast SEO is disabled.

    3. If the issue only happens when Yoast is enabled, please Check for conflicts.

    If you find any JavaScript errors related to Yoast SEO or if there is a conflict with a plugin or a theme, you can create a new GitHub issue?for our developers. Please report the issue to a third party developer as well.

    If you didn’t find any conflicts or errors, we think the issue is specific to your site. We’d need to investigate further but are unable to do so on these forums. You can purchase Yoast SEO Premium?and receive our Premium email support and we can help you further.

    I just found this reply of yours (further down) https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/yoast-seo-area-on-a-page-post-in-wordpress-does-not-load/

    I too was using WP_CONTENT_URL and WP_PLUGIN_URL with relative URLs. Switching to full URLs solved all problems.

    Thanks!

    This thread has been marked as resolved as the original poster confirmed the issue as resolved on their site.

    If you are not the original poster and continue to experience a similar issue, please open a new request. That way it’s easier for us to match replies with a specific problem. Thanks!
