Visual vs HTML view – tags not showing

    1) HTML to Visual to HTML
    When I create a new post in “HTML” view, type a few sentences and then add a few paragraph tags (<p> or <br />) around the text, then switch back to “Visual” view and later back to HTML view, all the P and BR tags are removed. Why?

    When I add other HTML tags in HTML view, then it stays intact when I switch between HTML and Visual, but P and BR tags are always stripped. Is there a way I can avoid this?

    2) Visual to HTML
    Also, when I start in Visual view and type a few paragraphs with proper spacing between them, add loads of linebreaks; when I switch to HTML view, the corresponding HTML tags were not created? But the spacing is still correct between the paragraphs so the HTML P and BR tags appear to be invisible in the HTML view?

    I was under the impression that if you’ve used Visual mode to write your post, that it will automatically display all the necessary HTML tags once you switch to HTML view. Or can it be done with a setting somewhere?
