While this is a fun improvement there are a few minor issues and one somewhat major one. If I add text to the ‘Visual’ window and hit refresh, the text disappears. Also I might want to just use the ‘Visual’ window without the second ‘Text’ window showing and I have yet to discern how to make that happen other than to toggle the windowing tabs. If I might make a suggestion, you may want to make this feature only happen after a menu button selection similar to the ‘distraction free’ menu button. Also I just found another problem – try adding a ‘More’ tag using a menu button to either window……. Please consider regression testing and QA before releasing updates. As a long time (40 years) software engineer, any time I was about to release a new update, I would give my changed app to someone in the marketing department. They never failed to immediately find a major issue….. The user is not who should be your QA department…. Never the less I VERY MUCH APPRECIATE ALL EFFORTS PEOPLE MAKE WITH FREE STUFF – I will be donating $$!!!!!

(especially plugins that update/improve to the poor native WordPress editor)

    I cannot recreate this issue.

However, I just released a patch that I think will fix these problems. Could you update, try out the patched version, and let me know if it works?

Would you happen to be using Windows 7?

    I just loaded 2.2.1
The previous version 2.2.0 displayed both the ‘Visual’ and ‘Text’ windows at the same time with the ‘Visual’ window above – ‘Text’ window below. With 2.2.1 this no longer is the case. I must use the tabs to view their respective windows. Otherwise it operates as did versions previous to 2.2.0 with changes not being lost when toggling between view windows. This version seems to work better and cleaner than all previous version.
I am using Genesis/Infinity Pro theme combo on a Windows 10 machine with the latest version of Chrome.
I did like the option of viewing both view windows at once but only as an option. Maybe add a button to do this if you get the time.

James: There is one more thing you could do to make this an almost perfect fix for the Text window – have the editor remember schema tags. Here is an example. Put this legitimate code into a test page ‘Text’ window. Then Save it. Then toggle to the ‘Visual’ window and then back to the ‘Text’ window and watch the change in the schema tags. This happens whenever I insert schema.

    <div itemscope=”” itemtype=”https://schema.org/Organization”>email to: <span itemprop=”email”>[email protected]</span><br />
    or by post to:</div>

Doing a reload of the ‘Text’ window brings back the schema but if you forget to reload…
