Volunteer Opportunity -WordPress Coder

Paajaf is a non-governmental organization (NGO) that focuses on providing: Basic facilities (Food, shelter, clothing), Information (Healthcare, Community building, Job training) and Education for underprivileged and underserved children, youth and women. Paajaf is a registered N.G.O with Certificate of Recognition from Department of Social Welfare in Ghana – Certificate Number D.S.W./4003 and Register General G21, 781.

We are in need of the assistance of WordPress coder/designer to volunteer and lunch a new website for our organization. Our current website is https://www.paajaf.org . Below information contains background information and a description of the Paajaf WordPress project. – – – would like to solicit if you would render this service to Paajaf as donation towards this project due to the recent reduce funding we don’t have money that we could pay for the service. Hence, we are appealing to you to come to our aid.

Paajaf Volunteer Project is under the supervision of eiProject which also is also a not-for-profit organization dedicated in raising the quality of life through technology and education. Reviewing the great work from the efforts of the Paajaf group, eiProject has decided to help by hosting and setting up a CMS with a user forum to promote member feedback, help raise international interest and funding for Paajaf.

The problem is trying to deliver a CMS which is easy for non coders to operate and maintain. Over the past year, eiProject has been promising us that they would find a CMS of choice for the Paajaf project, however these open source PHP based scripts are just not ready for prime time, with the exception of WordPress. The CMS of choice would be built on the PHP/AJAX platform and would be easy to administer. Candidates for consideration were: Exponent, WordPress and Concrete5. They have several sites one powered by a Windows server utilizing a LAMP-like setup. This is where Exponent .098 failed to install correctly. Waiting for the new release has been a lengthy process.

The Paajaf project will entail building a website utilizing WordPress. They are relatively new to WP. Paajaf will need the following:

A – A custom WP template – may be able to modify an existing one from the WP template gallery
B – A means to receive donations
C – A means to sell gifts
D – Ad management script
E – Forum script bridge (MyBB) The bridge already exist

Rick (Principal founder of eiProject) will be help assist with project management, will help to admin and moderate the site. They may also produce some plugins for WP from their socket server technology to accommodate real time events in parts of Africa. They are studying the API for WP.

Immediate Task: we need your assistance:
A – We must locate a WP template that works for news which can be modified – Paajaf and Rick will select from a number of templates, candidates from the WP gallery.

B – Integrate the MyBB bridge (Rick is already working with MYBB have several plugins that will add the kind of functionality for educating the public) MyBB is AJAX based and easy to manage.

Project Summary:

Paajaf will need a volunteer assistance of a WordPress skilled individual(s) to assist in building an easy to manage and comfortable web site that will incorporate e-commerce and a donation script. The site will deliver news, events and will have little use for blogging. Although WP is for blogging, it can also facilitate as a general CMS.
