• Hi I get this error message when I activate w3 cache additional services like minifying and browser caching: “Fatal error: Unknown: Cannot use output buffering in output buffering display handlers in Unknown on line 0” What does it mean? I also use this with autoptimize. And I deactivated all plugins but the same result happens. Does this have to do with php memory?

    Thanks

  • I get this error too, no explanation why – https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/cannot-use-output-buffering-error-stacktrace?replies=2

If you can, add/enable XDebug for PHP, this way you can get the stacktrace and see exactly where it fails.

Hopefully the author will respond soon.

The author does not respond. Look at the other support questions. He hasn’t even updated the plugin in six months. The only time the author responded to me was when I asked how to pay for W3 Total Cache pro. I am starting to think Total Cache is dead.

If this plugin is falling behind, can anyone recommend an alternative? Is WP super cache good?

On a single site, WP super cache + autoptimize is awesome. On multisite… I do not know. I am trying to find a solution but it seems my site is screwed without W3 total cache.

Both wpsc & ao should work on multisite. You could always create a topic in the respective support forums if problems occur?

@garyc14569: You’re trying to configure the same functionality with two different plugins, you should deactivate autoptimize if you’re using W3 Total Cache. If issues persist, please submit a bug report through the support tab of the plugin.

@Nickf4n: Looks like you’ve posted the same comments in a number of threads so I’ll just link back to the response.
