W3 TC keeps overwriting htaccess

    Hi all – I have been using W3 Total Cache for quite a while on a single site and recently it has started to completely overwrite the site htaccess with just the W3 TC pluggin rules – I have much security and redirect stuff (in the right place) and I need that stuff the stay. Thanks to all those who stop by.

    I am sorry about the issue you are experiencing and I am happy to assist you with this.
    W3 Total Cache writes the .htaccess rules in the block. Meaning within the #Begin W3TC and #End W3TC.
    So you need to make sure that other rules are placed outside of the W3TC rules to avoid any issues.
    You mentioned that the issue started recently, so possibly some rules you added are out of place.
    Are there any other rules besides W3TC rules?

    Hi and thanks for your reply – the other rules are always outside the W3 block – the plugin is simply overwriting the whole file, having done this at least 5 times in the past 10 days

    Thank you for the information.
    As impossible as that sounds, can you please share the website URL, the .htaccess file (when the issue occurred), the location of your .htaccess file and are those rules manually added or by some plugins?

    Are there any specific actions taken in that period like changing the settings in W3TC?
