• I use W3 Total Cache on my site and on my dashboard in the WordPress back end I am receiving the following error message at the top of the screen:

Recently an error occurred while creating the CSS / JS minify cache: Path “/home/mswhsc/public_html/home/mswhsc/public_html/wp-content/themes/wp-prolific-basic/style.css” failed realpath().

But the style.css file path doesn’t exist, as it should be:

    /home/mswhsc/public_html/wp-content/themes/wp-prolific-basic/style.css

    and not

    /home/mswhsc/public_html/home/mswhsc/public_html/wp-content/themes/wp-prolific-basic/style.css

    Any ideas anyone?

Are you having this issue with the latest release?

    (@phillthechill)

Yes still having this problem with the latest release.

i have the same problem with latest release.

Recently an error occurred while creating the CSS / JS minify cache:
    File "/home5/ericform/public_html/wp-content/themes/style.css" doesn't exist.

it makes no sense since any style.css should be inside an individual theme folder, not the parent “themes” folder. e.g. …/public_html/wp-content/themes/twentytwelve/style.css.

    Version 0.9.2.11, same issue

had the exact same error as eric with wp 3.5.1 & W3TC 0.9.2.11 in minify auto mode.

Receiving the same problem here, and variations of it as well. No problems with previous versions of the plugin.

Updated yesterday and the problem persists.

Turn off minify AND empty the cache. Beware that sometimes it breaks the site ONLY for NON logged in users… for this reason it could take a while before you are notified.

This is what happened in my case. The worst part is that Apache didn’t even log the 500, so I wasnt alerted about it.

i get this message with w3 last updata

W3 Total Cache error:It appears Minify URL rewriting is not working. Please verify that the server configuration allows .htaccess
Unfortunately minification will not function without custom rewrite rules. Please ask your server administrator for assistance. Also refer to the install page for the rules for your server.
    Technical info

but when i Deactivate the plugin everything working good

@ericjforman, @frg, @scuderiadank, @thecomplex: Have you guys tried emptying the page cache and the minify cache?

@amro Eldewiny You need to update the rules as the message states.

Yes, and the problem still persists.

yes I empty all caches frequently. the error messages still pop up once or twice a day, seemingly at random. sometimes in the afternoon, sometimes in the middle of the night. (i’m not clear on how W3TC schedules its minifying, does anyone know?)

Hi Frederick, The same is happening to three of my sites that have W3TC. Today the one site delivered a blank page and then had to be minified four times already. The other two sites come up with failed minify about twice to three times a day.

The plugin tries to repair sometimes but with no success. It always chooses 246 even when I lower that, to as low as 120.

Hope my two cents worth can help you. I have also emptied the page cache and minify cache every time and I am using the Suffusion Theme on all the sites if that helps.

This is the email message I am getting: “Unfortunately, an error occurred while creating the minify cache. Please check your settings to ensure your site is working as intended.

Thanks for using W3 Total Cache.”

Those that have issues here could you send a bug submission from the support tab of the plugin and we’ll send you new version with more fixes to minify to try out.

    @ Frederick Townes –
When sending in a detailed message (with using the support tab under W3TC Plugin) of what will not work with the plugin.

Whenever I submit what is wrong in the support tab it will not submit the message to you.

It causes WP to through an error –
    “Oops Not Found”

Please help – This has come to cripple the entire network and I am dead in the water in the water with this and have no idea what to do.

I would delete it but there are too many other good things in this plugin. Help us please!!!
