    Hello,

First of all, thanks for a great plugin!

I have been using W3 Total Cache for several years now and I have finally decided to migrate my site from HTTP to HTTPS.

Therefore I would like to know if there is anything that I need to beware of regarding W3 total cache and the migration.

E.g. Is there any settings that I need to change? Do I need to switch off the plugin while I install the SSL-certificate?

    Thanks on behalf!

    Hi @mlm90

W3 Total Cache works with an SSL certificate very well out of the box. You will need to make sure that you purge all of your caches to make sure your Page Cache and others update to the new URL.

Temporarily deactivating the plugin during the migration shouldn’t be strictly necessary, but it couldn’t hurt either. It may make the process go a little more smoothly.

WordPress does have a guide for migrating your site to HTTPS, specifically pay attention to updating the addresses in your Settings.

The plugin Really Simple SSL is in use by millions of websites and can resolve many of the headaches that come with moving a site over as well.

    Hello,

    Thanks for the answer Jesse!

The migration from HTTP to HTTPS went smoothly, but after the migration my site went from a GTMetrix Grade B with a performance score of 82 to a grade C with a performance score of 61.

Any idea why that may have happened?
