W3 Total Cache has made my WordPress Site Unusable
-
I deactivated and removed W3 Total Cache but it keeps giving me errors and it is preventing me from updating or installing ANY plugins on my WordPress site. I just want this thing GONE and OFF MY SYSTEM. How can you create a plugin that doesn’t completely remove itself when you delete it?
I have followed the advice on another thread and I have already done the following:
- Turned off all caching and clear all cache
- Deactivated W3 Total Cache plugin
- Removed W3 Total Cache plugin
- Removed advanced-cache.php
- Removed object-cache.php
- Removed db.php
- Removed wp-content/cache folder
- Checked .htaccess for any W3 Total Cache references
- Removed cache directive from wp-config.php
- Rebooted the server
But STILL I get the error “W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /bitnami/wordpress/wp-content/object-cache.php.” on my admin console. Even though W3 Total Cache plugin has been deleted.
I need to COMPLETELY REMOVE this plugin. How can I do that? Why is it so hard?
