W3 Total Cache impact on the public site
-
Hi all,
some months ago I installed the W3 Total Cache plugin on my wordpress site, then I uninstalled it (I don’t remember the exact reason).
After some days I was unable to login in my wordpress panel because of the message:
- W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /home/dejjbtab/public_html/wp-content/advanced-cache.php.
- W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /home/dejjbtab/public_html/wp-content/object-cache.php.”
My hosting provider suggested to simply remove the two files from the wp-content folder and I did it. I got access to WordPress, so that issue was solved.
Unfortunately only few days ago I realized that the public website is completely different from what I see when I’m logged in my WordPress. So from the back-end I developed for weeks on a website which is actually not visible to anyone. What is visible is a crappy version of it, with a lot of css errors.
This plugin seems to be the reason for the mismatch between the public version of the site and what I see from wordpress.
By the way, I cannot restore a backup version of the website because too much time has passed and I don’t have a useful backup. In any case, I would lose all the developments made over weeks.
How can I solve the issue?
I hope for a simple solution because I have no technical skills.
