• My website https://www.seafoodcourt.com shows “Error establishing a database connection” time to time. After changing DB uname and pwd, it works well … after few days, it shows the error.

is this happening with w3 Total cache? I use that great plugin. It helps me a lot. but I feel it does this error … ?? any idea?

  • Without looking at the database, I can’t answer this for sure but my guess is that as it’s only happening from “time to time” it’s a database timeout issue, which is likely to occur when your website is experiencing too much traffic on a shared hosting environment.

To know for sure, look at your error logs for slow SQL executions, that’ll help you out.

Running W3 Total Cache is a great first step, also follow some of the steps at https://thisismyurl.com/81/gain-valuable-seo-power-with-caching/ to make the most of caching.

yes Finally I found the issue. My web host changed that issue. i have another wordpress site https://www.pdalk.com. faced smae issue also. (different host)

Normally lot of people use shared servers (that means one internet link for lot of websites). So host admin control our bandwidth. so when PHP codes take long time to access DB, there is a timeout and shows that error. Conacting host, we can fix the issue.
