W3 Total Cache unable to connect to ftp

  • Just spent half the day trying to get this “great” plugin to work. Needless to say, I am soooo very frustrated…. I’m not all that technical and this thing is like written in a different language. It is not a simple setup at all. I feel like I need a degree in server configurations…

    Every time I try to export the media files, wp-includes or anything else I get an error similar to this:

    wp-content/uploads/2011/06/Wildewood-Entrance1.jpg Unable to connect to https://ftp.mcgowanproperties.net:21 ().

    Different file, but same error. I thought I set up the CDN right. The .htcaccess and test files post (even though it gives me an error on the dashboard end). Is it really caching somewhere and not telling me?

    The main goal of this entire ordeal is just to have the pictures in the gallery (NextGEN) cache so that there is not a lag every time someone clicks next.

    Please help!
