W3 Total Cache Update Fail and New Install Fail

I updated my W3 Total Cache plugin and it gave me an error message saying that it failed. To try and fix it, I deleted the plugin and reinstalled it following these directions.https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/w3-total-cache/#installation
I set the permissions to 777 and reinstalled the plugin, but it is still saying it failed. Even though it has failed, the plugin appears in WordPress and I can access the settings. When I run a compatibility test I get the following results…

Any help is appreciated.
