    W3TC is my favourite caching plugin, so have it on all my sites, but it’s been running super slow on AMP for ages and now it’s breaking it altogether.

    It loads slow with lightweight themes on AMP, too, such as GeneratePress!

    I’m running Themify theme and standard or native AMP.

    Any help is appreciated, thanks.

    Hello @davwaiguy

    I am sorry about the issue you are experiencing and I am happy to assist you with this.
    Are you usng any AMP plugin?
    Is the AMP extension enabled in Perfirmance>extensions?
    Thank you!

    Hi Marko,

    Sorry for the late reply, had some DNS issues so the site has been down. ??

    1. I’m running Native/Standard AMP and using the W3 extension for over a year now.
    2. Same setup on 3 x sites only 1 with issue.
    3. WordPress AMP plugin – the official one.
    4. All the errors are accepted automatically with native/standard AMP, but it’s hiding the hero image and placing the WordPress admin in the footer.
    5. Themify Ultra theme.
    6. This is the code it’s removing. I got it from the error panel.

    function w3tc_popupadmin_bar(url) {		return window.open(url, '', 'width=800,height=600,status=no,toolbar=no,menubar=no,scrollbars=yes');
    }

    It says to wrap script tags in AMP script tags or use AMP bind?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello @davwaiguy

    Thank you for the info, and yes I’ve noticed that your website is down!
    Can you please share more info from the error panel?

    2. The same setup on 3 x sites only 1 with issue.

    Is there any difference between those setups possibly in the AMP settings? And is the AMP updated on all installations?
    Are you using any other Cache/minify plugin?
    Thank you!

    The website is back up now. That’s why I waited to respond.

    Everything has been spot on, no problems until now. And yes, always keep everything up to date.

    No other caching plugins, either, just W3 that’s the problem. Only use Autoptimize or FVM on my other non-AMP sites.

    Thanks

    Hi Marko,

    I’ve dug a bit deeper into the AMP error section and it’s coming from Generic Plugin.php Line 658.

     	function popup_script() {
     ?>
     		<script type="text/javascript">
    			function w3tc_popupadmin_bar(url) {
     				return window.open(url, '', 'width=800,height=600,status=no,toolbar=no,menubar=no,scrollbars=yes');
     			}
    			</script>
     			<?php
     	}

    I’ve also turned W3TC back on, because it’s a client’s site and I turned it off for a few hours. Cheers.

    Hello @davwaiguy

    Thank you for the info but We can’t seem to replicate the issue.
    Just to confirm, you are using the same setup on 3 websites and this is the only one you have an issue with?
    And, the issue starts to occur after you updated the W3 Total Cache or The AMP plugin.
    And can you please confirm this is the plugin you are using?
    Thank you!

    Hi Marko,

    Yes, that’s correct x 3 sites. I’ve just turned it off for now, though.

    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/amp/

    Wrong plugin though. I’m ussing the OFFICIAL one.

    Soon as I do that it’s okay.

    I’ve got Cloudflare on the site so it’s not such a problem. Maybe I can look into it myself more and will let you know if I find a solution.

    Thanks for your time and support – it is appreciated.

    Regards,

    David
