W3TC + CDN take long time to upload images
-
I have W3TC connected with Stackpath CDN.
Since several months, uploading images to a post have been taking longer and longer. Started a few seconds, then several seconds, and now it takes about a minute to upload a 100k jpg file.Search the around the wordpress forums, I found a similar problem that pointed out that enabling “Only purge CDN manually” in the CDN tab fixes the problem. So, I checked the box, saved the settings, and now images are faster as it should be.
However, it’s not clear to me what that setting does, so my questions are:
1. Why images take a long time to upload when the option isn’t enabled?
2. What I just enabled?
3. What’s the actual behavior (actions) of this setting?
4. How this setting being enabled will affect my everyday posting?
5. Will reader will see the new content text, styling, and images when I update an already published post?
6. Do I need to do anything every time I publish or update a post because of enabling this feature? Thanks,
