    Hello to everyone, this is my first time posting to the forum(s). I am a student and am attempting to build a wordpress theme and I am having some odd caching issues (so I’m told) and can not get my main menu to show. I’ve been working on it for a few days, i’ve turned all my plugins off, etc.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Looks like you have Super Cache on your site – this shows at the bottom of your pages:

    <!-- Dynamic page generated in 0.423 seconds. -->
    <!-- Cached page generated by WP-Super-Cache on 2013-05-07 01:24:08 -->

    <!-- super cache -->

    Have you deactivated that?

    Also try resetting the plugins folder – using FTP, change the plugins folder to something else like “plugins.HOLD” temporarily.

    If that does not fix it, switch to the default WP theme (twentytwelve) to rule out a theme issue.

    You also have a lot of mark-up errors – which may or may not be causing problems:

    Also, this might be useful – although your theme might have a different menu set-up:

    THANK YOU very much for taking a look – I’m aware that their are html errors being thrown at this time, but until i get the cache issue resolved they will persist as changes I make don’t come through.

    Currently i’m trying to get all my nav styling into the dropdown menu bar but i keep hitting roadblocks which i think is the result of cache issues playing out maybe; My teacher said that i had some cache issues going on and tasked me with researching htem which I am doing as I’m a super novice.

    If it helps, this is what I’m trying to create: https://scc.maxworks.org/_classes/_298wp/wp_portraitStudiosComp

    I haven’t put in the slider stuff yet, i’m still just trying to get the navigation to work.

    And i almost forgot to say ‘Thank you WPyogi’,

    thanks!

    Deactivating the plugin and resetting the plugins folder would be the way to do that – sometimes plugins can be sticky even when deactivated. Also, make sure you are using the most current version of Super Cache – it was updated just a couple of weeks ago.

    You’re welcome too :). (It’s easy to forget when we’re all intent on fixing the problem – especially since communicating this way has its limitations.)

    Thank you again WPyogi,
    I reset the plugin folder as you suggested (plugin.HOLD), force emptied caches, etc. Now i’m going to take a break as it’s very hot tonight. Once my studio’s cooled a bit i ail try to to see if i can get my footer and Header to behave properly so i can complete the assignment – Thanks for the help (I don’t know what the caching was doing mind you but my teacher who is very smart said it was a problem to resolve and i think it resolved?

    Cheers and many thanks WPyogi (I just ‘got’ your handle, very cool)
