• I’m having a problem with WordPress and permalinks not working. I’m using WAMP and have turned on the rewrite_module which fixed the 404 errors with the permalinks on my local WAMP server, but now whenever I try to go to a pretty URL it shows the Wampserver homepage.

Any ideas? It’s very frustrating as all the things I find on Google are telling me to turn on the rewrite_module but it hasn’t fixed anything. I’ve tried restarting the computer to make sure the new settings are applied and I’ve cleared my cache in both IE and Firefox but the same thing keeps happening.

  • I don’t know if you already solved this problem, but just in case I’m posting the easy fix for anyone running into the same trouble.

Log-in to your WordPress backend (Dashboard) and go to Settings and Permalinks.
Click the “Save Changes” button. You don’t need to change anything here, just leave everything like it is and save the changes.
    That’s it, you are done.

@ scottybowl MAN Thanks a lot your question solved my problem. I was trapped in a prob but wasn’t getting any proper way to ask to people about it.
