Want a link to open in a new window.

When I click on the link, it simply uses the same window, and when this is closed down, of course, I do not go back to the originating page.

Blogger use to allow this by adding by modifying the URL (target=_)

I have tried _Blank, which I supposed to achieve my requirement, but still the URL opens in the same window.
