I decided to test the free Platform theme made for WordPress and absolutely loved it! So much so, I considered buying PlatformPro for the added functionality. Then I came across EcoPro for WordPress and thought – bingo!

So, I first went to backup my site- did the basic download of my WordPress files and then exported my database via my host’s phpadmin panel. Super simple, all went well. So I thought.

Then I pulled my site up in my browser. Holy cow! YUCK! WP Platform bombed and I hadn’t even done the WordPress upgrade to v. 3.0.5. All I did was download backups to my local drive and what I have now is one ugly website – the background has gone from white to grey, the menu layout is broken and the footer bar which should be black is now a really gross fluorescent magenta.

I’m just too new at building web sites to understand what happened. Now I’m thinking that it’s too soon to buy something like EcoPro for WordPress, which I’d really like to do but I don’t know if the same thing will happen just by doing a database export of files according to the WordPress Codex instructions. Still, if I can get my site back to rights, I would consider risking my $75 to give it a go because I really like what I see. I just need to know that the theme is stable.

    Thanks,

    cpwren

  • Hey,
    Try reactivating the theme.

There is a small activation bug in the most recent version of Platform.

Also, regarding EcoPro… just FYI that is a stand alone theme; so it wont work on top of Platform.

Have you tested the themes at https://test.pagelines.com ?
