Want image gallery page to appear in category.

Hi WP World,

Yes, I am new to WordPress. I can’t seem to get an answer to this hurdle I’ve reached. I have made pages for an artist with images in a media gallery. On the right of the dashboard, I have checked the categories I would like them to be associated with. When I click on the category, it tells me “nothing found”? I only wanted to work with the category as another way to get the user to see the images. Am I missing some process? I naively thought if I check the category on the right of the image, it would show up in that gallery. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
