• Hi WP peeps. I’m a newbie n00b. With much help from James I am transferring my old site to Word Press. Here it is:

    https://www.cindigo.com/blog/

    I would like to put a flickr bagde in the header (it’s possibly the side bar, I’m not sure). I would like it to go to the right of CINDIGOdotCOM and under “home” and “about”. I have the html, I just don’t know where to put it.

    Anyone?

    Thanks guys.

  • Well, your site’s down so I can’t see where you want to place that information. Visiting cindigo.com/blog just forwards me to https://www.cindigo.com/2008/01/05/blogging-from-the-golden-nugget, which returns 404: Not Found (the page doesn’t exist).

    Here’s where to go to start editing the code of your template:
    1. Login (yoursite.com/wp-admin);
    2. Click “Design”;
    3. Click “Theme Editor”;
    4. Under the heading “Theme Files,” you’ll see “Templates”;
    5. You’ll need to add your flickr badge code to one of those files.

    As soon as your site’s back online again, someone should be able to help you figure out which file to add the code to. If you want to try to find it yourself, instead of pasting the code in place, try to simply type `TEST
    until that shows up where you want the image. That should give you a good idea of which template file controls which page without doing too much harm to your final design. Once you getTEST` to show up where you want it, swap that out for your flickr badge and you should be all set.

    Could you post how you fixed this problem? Someone in the future might have the exact same issue you did and you could help them find the answer by a quick explanation of what you did to fix it. Also, mark this as resolved if you figured it out. Thanks.

    I use the Flickr badge in my sidebar and I love it. I was wondering if the code could be put in the body of one of my Dog Running website pages using a separate unique tag such as dog-exercise
    or pet-sitting and it would pull my photos from flickr with that tag, but using bigger thumbnails. Not Sure if this is possible. Does anyone know?
